In this masterclass we highlight the (possible) impact of a crisis and provide insight into how the board/management can quickly regain control of the situation with a strategic approach, regardless of the type of crisis you are dealing with.
Because we live in an era in which threats are developing rapidly and legislation is becoming increasingly strict, it is crucial for executives and organizations to know the risks and proactively make the right preparations. An environmental incident, cyber attack, industrial accident, fraud or unacceptable behavior can suddenly arise and (potentially) have major consequences for the organization and directors. The sooner you get the situation under control, the better.
Such a crisis situation immediately raises many different questions, such as: How do we prepare? What is the role of the Supervisory Board? What are we going to communicate? Do we have to report it? Should we pay a ransom and/or negotiate about it? How to respond to requests from the authorities’ to make a statement? What about directors’ liability? Etc. That is why we have set up this masterclass together with Jouko Barensen and Hugo van Aardenne van Ploum, both seasoned lawyers who are regularly called upon in crisis situations.
Program
In this masterclass we will interactively go through the most important principles of good crisis management. You then apply this yourself to a realistic, fictional case, after which we reflect on the chosen approach and the legal framework. There will be plenty of room for questions.
The content is as follows:
- Principles of strategic crisis management: what is a crisis and how do you organize crisis preparedness at strategic level?
- Case: which strategic and legal dilemmas do you encounter and how do you tackle them?
- Legislation, governance and liability: what are the most relevant elements and what do they mean for directors?
If you have any questions or would like more information about the program or our services, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to seeing you on June 13!
